Nerja

Nerja has over sixteen kilometres of beaches.
The mountain range of the Sierra Almijara provides the dramatic backdrop to Nerja and this combination of mountain area, attractive town and beaches offers a huge diversity of activity.

The heart of Nerja is its Balcon de Europa.
The old quarter of the town remains virtually unchanged with its narrow, winding streets and whitewashed houses.
Nerja offers a huge choice of restaurants and bars and many interesting shops. Nearby, just outside the neighbouring village of Maro, lie the famous Nerja Caves one of which has been transformed into a concert hall for summer performances.

Nerja has its origins in the Middle Ages. It has about 13.000 residents.

The most beautiful village of this part of the coast is still easy to grasp.

In front of the Sierra de Tejada some neo-Moorish (Andalucian) style urbanisations are situated on the hillside near the sea.

One of these wonderful urbanisations is the "San Juan de Capistrano" resort, located on the Capistrano hill.
